Sex And Controversy Sex was a hot topic after Alfred Charles Kinsey's "Sexual Behavior in the Human Male," or the "Kinsey Report" as it came to be known, was published in 1948. Kinsey, who was born on this date in 1894, was a sociologist and student of human sexual behavior. Based on extensive interviews with 18,500 subjects, Kinsey revealed that many so-called perversions were actually common practices. He was both vilified and praised for his work, yet people who read his book were struck by its almost total lack of eroticism.
